Wiler-Ersigen won the European Cup back in 2005 on home soil. Sunday morning the Swiss Champions won bronze medals at the EuroFloorball Cup 2009. Lekrings did not have the energy to put up another fight and lost 13 to 2.

Bronze medal matches quite often lack the intensity and quality of semi-finals and finals. The Sunday morning opener in Arena Nord, Frederikshavn, was no exception.

Wiler-Erigen easily outran the Latvian fighters from Lekrings. And both teams used the opportunity to use players from their third and fourth line. On Saturday Lekrings invested a lotof energy against Tapanilan Erä – perhaps that is the why the Baltic team was not able to upset Wiler-Ersigen.

A tighter and more intense game was expected but the crowd had to be satisfied with a lot of Swiss goals.

Congratulations Wiler-Ersigen. And congratulations Lekrings on a historic Latvian result.
